actionable feedback makes stronger storytellers
One thing I really dislike about a lot of feedback you’ll get from script labs, coverage notes, or various “professionals” is that they too often focus on whether or not they like the basic premise or other vague catch-alls like “tone“ or “mood.”
I believe that any story can be a good one, given the application of appropriate tools. Because good story structure forces both a complexity of thought and emotion. For example, most indie films are lackluster these days because they don’t have a proper third act. It’s not a formula you have to follow, but when you don’t elaborate upon your theme, which is what the third act allows, audiences forget your film pretty quickly.
Over the past decade of somehow making it work in the elusive “film industry,” I’ve pitched, sold projects, made award-winning short films, and raised over $130,000 in grants for my feature and short projects. In my work as a film programmer and reader for labs, I’ve rated, judged, and covered hundreds of feature films, scripts, shorts by aspiring filmmakers from a diverse range of artistic motivations and styles.
So let me help you! I’ve learned a lot about what makes a story compelling — whether you’re trying to impress programmers, labs, general audiences, or just yourself.

For the actors. Have a big audition or a tricky part? Send me your materials, and let’s work together until you feel confident to press record or walk in the room. I have a knack for knowing what directors want — because I am one.
Usually remote, but if we’re in NYC or the Charlotte-area at the same time, let’s work in person!
